Welcome Symbrosia

After three years of research and development and field trials, Symbrosia is now turning its mind to commercialisation and has secured a license from FutureFeed to sell its methane-busting supplement into the US market.

Nathaniel Last, CEO of FutureFeed, said the addition of Symbrosia to the group of licensees was an exciting milestone on the technology’s path to commercialisation with the US market representing huge opportunity for meaningful impact.

“There are more than 26,000 feedlots in the USA making it the perfect market for the technology because this is our first addressable market,” Mr Last said.

“Symbrosia have been one of the early movers on the cultivation of the seaweed and it’s timely to have them on board as a licensee as we look to rapidly scale the technology around the world.

Alexia Akbay, CEO of Symbrosia, was recently named in Forbes 30 under 30 in the social impact arena and is a force to be reckoned with.

“With the support of the US federal government, our first few years have been about the research and development needed to optimize seaweed cultivation and delivery,” Ms Akbay said.

“We now look to join forces with our visionary livestock producers and sell commercially. The license from FutureFeed is a critical piece of the commercialisation puzzle.

“We look forward to being part of FutureFeed’s growing network of global seaweed cultivators who are taking this incredible discovery to market. Collaboration is essential to bringing forth this opportunity.”
